The Technological Innovation Center (TIC) is a network of
researchers and advisors dedicated to the development of innovative products related to cement,
concrete and other materials used in the construction industry.
The center employs highly qualified personnel, along with equipment
which is one of a kind in Mexico. The center is also linked to the most modern research centers in
the world. The technological capacity and the human capital at TIC have allowed GCC to “Constantly
Develop Profitable and Innovative Solutions for the Construction Industry”.
The areas that make up the Technological Innovation Center
are:
Cement Unit : This unit is responsible for carrying out research regarding state
of the art technologies for the production of cement, and for improvements in the manufacturing
process of the same.
Concrete Unit : This unit is responsible for carrying out research regarding new
technologies and uses for concrete.
New Materials Unit: This unit focuses mainly on the development of new materials
for the construction industry, profiting from the raw materials in the area. It also focuses on the
use of industrial sub products.
Normalization and Standardization Unit: This Unit mainly focuses on
the implementation of new analytic methods using state of the art technology, in order to
ensure optimum quality of raw materials and/or new products.
Technological Intelligence Unit: It is responsible for a series of processes and
systematic search practices, analysis and information reports regarding tendencies in the
scientific and technological fields.
