Can water be added to the concrete at the worksite?

You must avoid adding water to concrete in the final stage for several reasons. The most important one is that if you do this, the final resistance is reduced. There is an approximate resistance loss of 2.5 kg/cm2 for each additional litre of water you add. In order to avoid this, if you wish to have a concrete mix with more turnaround, the solution is to add a water reducing additive. In this way you will not sacrifice the quality of the concrete.
