GCC Foundation

The GCC Foundation was born in 2006 and is committed to the comprehensive development of the State of Chihuahua and the communities where we operate, through specific actions and programs, as well as by channeling resources to three mayor areas:

Education and the promotion of culture in the State of Chihuahua
Infrastructure and
Social welfare
We closely follow the impacts of our actions and implement continuous improvement processes to achieve excellent results. Our close relationships and ongoing dialogue with the organizations that request support set the pace, through strategic alliances, in our path to pursue our goals.
Our Foundation is the main link between GCC and the communities, where we want to leave a hallmark that benefits both the residents and our environment. Our team of professionals participates with the institutions, chambers and trade associations that represent the several sectors of our communities and our customers, supporting the bridges strategy that is the core of our Foundation. We maintain a close relationship with all the levels of government, which makes us more sensitive to the needs of the several stakeholders that make-up our communities.
Building a Sustainable Chihuahua

“Construyendo un Chihuahua Sustentable” is an initiative with the goal of promoting sustainable construction at the State of Chihuahua, economically feasible and environment-friendly, to meet the community’s needs based on a shared vision.

30 organizations participate in this initiative to promote sustainable construction at the State of Chihuahua. It all started with jointly created document bearing the same name that lists the main challenges for the State, as well as possible solutions on four major topics:

Urban Development, Housing, Mobility
Energy, and
Sustainable Education

GCC has been a pioneer in the community by establishing revision parameters for our Social Responsibility strategy. For twelve consecutive years, we have received the Socially Responsible Company Award, granted annually by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía, Cemefi) and AliaRSE.

GCC is committed to three pillars that drive our social responsibility:

Distintivo ESR® (Socially Responsible Company Award) is not a one-time commitment, but it should be reaffirmed year after year, to keep alive our social responsibility culture. For twelve consecutive years, GCC has remained committed to the society through the SRC Award.

“We are a role model and leader in sustainability for our communities.” We have a business social responsibility committee, chaired by the Company’s Board of Directors, and formed by expert professionals in the area, which sets the guidelines to make the best use of GCC’s capacities and strengths, to respond to our stakeholders’ needs.

National and international referents that enhance GCC’s Social Responsibility strategy:
Mexican Social Responsibility Standard NMX-SAST-004-IMNC-2004: Guidelines to Implement the Social Responsibility Management System.
GRI-Global Reporting Initiative: Guideline to prepare sustainability reports, which makes emphasis on the transparency of the work processes, granting them the same importance as the financial reports.
ISO 26000 Social Responsibility: Document that provides the guidelines on Social Responsibility set by the International Organization for Standardization.
Global Compact: A United Nations initiative. It promotes 10 basic principles, establishing associations with companies, NGO’s and government and state and semi-state agencies.
CEMEFI_AliarSE: Non-regulatory model to evaluate Social Responsibility based on certain indicators in Mexico and Latin America.
